Professor Kwok-Wing Lai Wing is Professor of Education and Director, Centre for Distance Education and Learning Technologies at the University of Otago College of Education. His research areas include distance learning, informal learning, and knowledge building. He is an editor and section editor of the second edition of the International Handbook of Information Technology in Primary and Secondary Education, to be published by Springer in 2018.

Cathy Lewin is Professor of Education at the Education and Social Research Institute, Manchester Metropolitan University. She is vice-chair of IFIP Working Group 3.3 on Research. Her research interests concern young people, teachers, families and technology, in relation to both formal and informal learning. Drawing on both quantitative and qualitative research methods, she has over 20 years’ experience of evaluation of innovations in primary and secondary schools, much of which has impacted on UK and international educational policies.
